Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2014-06-03]: People instinctively organize a new language they hear for the first time according to a logical hierarchy which seems embedded in them. We are not simply learning which words go together, as computer translation programs do, but rather possess some kind of a "universal grammar" in us.  We think based on what we already know. We are not standing alone, but on the shoulders of... on the shoulders of... what?!? Anyway. At least we wear shoes. Tlue Bwo.
