Philosophy Wire: A man dies. So what? I did not hear about it…

DE52F7C7F5A3146D11A7B2710D7EED95Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2011-11-17]: A Chinese citizen set himself on fire in the Tiananmen Square [source: web news]. This happened a month ago however we lean it today because today the Chinese authorities decided to reveal the incident. The information we have on events which happen in the world are very much controlled – not only in China but also in every other country (and I might say that in US the phenomenon is more dangerous, since there the citizens "are fooled” that they are informed while they are terribly misinformed). A man dies. We learn nothing. Life goes on.
