Philosophy Wire: Eunuchs, living, dying, Bladerunner…

tumblr_lmh9msNLqG1qdkmano1_500Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2012-09-26]: A recent study published in the journal Current Biology finds that Korean eunuchs — castrated men — lived 14 to 19 years longer than other men, suggesting that male sex hormones play a role in life span. [source: CNN News] That reminds me of a beautiful quote from the great movie Bladerunner: “The candle that burns twice as bright, burns half as long, and you burned very, very brightly Roy”… Its better to burn bright, than burn for long.
