Philosophy Wire: Gay Pride ban and why we should NOT care…

Human rights activists are protesting around the world [source: BBC News]. But why do they protest? What is exactly that which non-homosexuals should tolerate? Why should we have annual parades of homosexuality and transexuality while all other parades (even those related to important national anniversaries across the world) are reduced or completely abolished? When does the fight for human rights ends and the oppression of the silent majority from a never-ending shouting minority begins? Homosexuals have now every right to vote, to walk along the street, to dominate TV and media and to get married. What more would they want? Gay Pride has changed from being the symbol of a fight to a mere street happening. Homosexuals around the world are trapped into the same trap feminists were trapped some time ago: after having win their game, they continue to move on with great speed and outside of the court field…
