Philosophy Wire: Tintin, the trial and the oppression of Stupidity…

The trial had started because a person found the content of the comic as “racist” and asked for the ban of the book or for the placement of a warning message in the beginning of the comic which would explain the era context in which it was written [source: AFP]. This is indeed a glorious day for thinking people of this planet. Everyone must understand that all literature, philosophy and in general all books are written in a specific era. And they are influenced by that era. Should we put a special “label warning” in the beginning of Plato in order for all the stupid people of this world to understand that his work was written 2,500 years ago? Spare me, please…
